I am using a broadband card (Verizon Wireless) and my question is about putting my laptop on standby.

    After I disconnect should I

A)remove my card (by using the remove hardware feature in the tray) or

    B) "Power off WWAN Device" in the options menu...

    or

    C) Can I simply close the lid after disconnecting (put my laptop on stanby)

My concern is if I just shut the lid will the card (PCMCIA) stay "on" and drain my battery...

    Thanks.

Well it seems if I "Power off WWAN Device" that when I wake up my laptop that the option in the manager program still says "Power off..." instead of "power on wwan device"... odd. You have to hit power off again and then power on...

Next I left the card in and just disconnected then hibernated my laptop - when I woke it back up I couldn't get the VZAccess Manager to open up... I had to restart.

One thing I did find out was that if the laptop is asleep the card is "off" - the light ceased blinking when the system was in sleep/hibernate mode...
