I just got my wireless router, its a netgear WGR614. And it's saying I have to set my gateway (a 2Wire 2700HG-B) in bridge mode. Can someone please explain bridge mode to me and how I do it? I know it may seem like a simple networking question but this is my first router. That gateway's all I've ever used.

I've tried to google it but I don't get anything.

    Thank you.

Bridge mode is a setting that passes everything through the router (2wire) to the new router. It's like Microsoft's ICS. If you login to the 2wire under WAN maybe advanced settings you should see this. It's been over 2 yrs since I'v setup a 2wire, sorry I can't be more specific. You may want to look at the 2wire manual. You should be able to connect multiple routers together without changing the routers functions. I currently have a main router with 2 other routers connected. This allows me to setup multiple layer of security. This has some hold backs. Users from the lower routers can go out but users outside can not come in, due to the firewall. It like setting up Virtual lans, routers have their own subnets.
