Well this is great. 2 weeks into owning this awesome laptop and the wireless card is constantly dropping connection. Every 30 seconds to a minute its like someone is just disconnecting it.

My laptop is sitting 10 feet from the router. Does this on both 2.4 and 5ghz bands. Ive changed the channel, disabled the adapter and re-enabled, power cycled the router and done everything i can think of to fix this. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just updated the drivers and its still doing this. This is so frustrating.

I have windows 10 pro and havent done a windows update yet so I know this isnt Microsoft's fault.

Found another forum where people were having a similar issue. Fixed by turning bluetooth off. I turned mine off. Let's see if that fixes it. *fingers crossed*

Update: This didn't fix the issue. The wireless keeps dropping I can't figure out why. Possibly the wireless adapter just went bad?

So I got on my laptop after everyone went to bed and havent had any disconnect issues for 20 minutes now. Could this be a possible congestion issue? Really strange as I've never run into this before.

could be driver issues. Restart might have fixed it or the driver might have fixed itself.

I updated the firmware on the router and havent disconnected for a couple hours. Gonna see what happens when everyone is fighting for bandwidth again.

    1) Download the previous Intel WLAN Driver v19.70.0, then extract the ZIP file somewhere, preferably in D:\Drivers

    2) Go to device manager, expand Network Adapters, right click on the Intel AC 8265 then go to properties. Next, go to the Drivers tab and choose Uninstall Device, then also check the box which says delete driver

    3) Reboot your laptop

    4) Now go back to Device Manager, expand Network Adapters again, right click on the Intel 8265 card and choose update driver, then choose the 2nd option " Browse my computer for driver software" then point it to the location of the driver folder which you extracted and hit Next

    5) Reboot again after the installation is done.

Thank you Phoenix. I'll give that a try in the morning as it's almost 3am my time.

    See OP.
Even my sister's lappie wasn't picking the signal when it was 2 ft. away. I had to run troubleshoot Network adapter from Settings app to fix the issue. I felt really strange.

I forgot to update the thread as I've been sick with a fever for the past 3 days. It was wifi congestion. Too many devices using wifi in a small area. Odd that only my laptop adapter was affected though. I upgraded the firmware on the router and updated drivers for wifi and haven't been having any issues.
