Hi all. Sorry for my first post being a thread, but I just got my U810 and want it to be attached at my hip almost literally. Anyway, I purchased this item from eBay and it is not working (I should have known better since it says specifically for Dell but I saw no other choices). The U810 doesn't even recognize it meaning Windows XP doesn't ask for drivers or anything. I successfully placed it in the mini pci-e slot in the U810 and hooked up the two antennas just fine.

I was wondering if anyone knew a hack on getting this to work with my U810. If it worked as it would in a Dell, this card does WiFi, Verizon broadband mobile, and a GPS all in one. I don't want to buy a bunch of USB devices to do all that because then it defeats the purpose of these UMPCs anyway. If someone knows of a non-Dell "locked" mini pci-e card that would work and do all those things I'd love to know about it (been searching for weeks) otherwise any info on getting this card I already bought to work would be very appreciated!

I read here that someone found out if you rip open a certain Verizon USB device (I believe the USB720) there's a mini pci-e card in there. Only problem is that Verizon disabled the GPS function of it!).

The webpage goes to a deactivated ebay page. What exactly did you purchase on ebay? I assume that you want to replace the internal wifi card with a 3G mini PCI module? I don't think that you will find a card that will be able to cover your wifi needs.
In terms of mini pci wwan cards. I think that Sierra wireless cards seem to be more suitable for your needs. However, that says nothing about the compatibility of all of this with your Fujitsu UMPC.

Thanks for the reply. The card is a Dell 5700 (or 5720) Mini PCI-E EVDO card for Verizon. It fits in my Fujitsu just fine. But I read online out of spite or whatever Dell does some tricks so non-Dell computers cannot even detect it. I was wondering if there was a work around for it.

    which worked great,

loved the card so much that i bought 2 more for my other 2 laptops,
the GPS is really good on them
