I have the option of getting a Bluetooth internal wireless card with my xps 140. What can the bluetooth do? I have a motorola e815 cell phone with bluetooh capability. Will i be able to send stuff to my phone or anything? or what exactly does the bluetooth stuff do? Any info?

Well, if you are wondering what it is, then you probably don't need it.

Basically, bluetooth is a PAN (Personal Area Network), and it can connect devices such as a PDA to your computer so you can transfer files, sync contacts. The maximum transfer speed is about 1Mbps, and the range on bluetooth is about 32 feet.

The Motorola E815 is Verizon, and unfortunately, they cripple the bluetooth, so it can only be used for bluetooth headsets. Might as well be called VerizonTooth.

You can pretty much use it on bluetooth device---mouse, PDA, headphones, cell phone, etc. It basically eliminates the needs for cords to connect your devices to your laptop so you don't have to carry so many USB cords. Its fairly easy to setup, and most users find it beneficial.

Personally, I always use mine for my PDA since I don't have a cell phone with bluetooth yet.

Is the Dell internal bluetooth class 1 or class 2?
