Just to understand what's going on with my Sony FE590P, I would like to know if the services a bluetooth adapter provides depend on the adapter itself, on the drivers, on the software which uses them, or any combination ?

When Sony tells me that my bluetooth adapter does not support A2DP, is there anything I can do (aside from using an external Bluetooth USB adapter) to change that ?

To present the whole picture, I am trying (unsuccessfully up to know) to use headsets with my internal bluetooth adapter.

If the hardware does not support A2DP and a driver update does not add function for it. You have no choice except to use a external.
