I have never used the bluetooth function but both my laptop and cellphone have that function around. I want to ask, how the heck do I get the bluetooth to work and what exactly does it do? Is it safe to have my cellphone bluetooth on? Will I get hack? Sorry I am a newbie with the BT technology so your help is appreciated. Many thanks. :)

Bluetooth is a wireless protocol utilizing short-range communications technology facilitating data transmission over short distances from fixed and/or mobile devices, creating wireless personal area networks (PANs). The intent behind the development of Bluetooth was the creation of a single digital wireless protocol, capable of connecting multiple devices and overcoming problems arising from synchronization of these devices

I use my Nokia N95-1 and my lappy for sending & receiving files , syncing contacts between devices .

BT has its disadvantages too mate , so switch it off when you're not using it and you'll be perfectly safe ;)

I have bluetooth in my cell phone and computer, and I use it occasionally to send picture and music files back and forth. When I'm not using bluetooth, I keep it turned off to save battery life.

I don't think there's any real threat to having your cell phone hacked via bluetooth.
