Bluetooth issue on Asus F3Tc

Hi! For some time now I have been trying to get the internal bluetooth device to work on my notebook. According to Asus, the bluetooth stack is made by toshiba. I tried installing the drivers that came with the notebook and the drivers from the toshiba site both manual and automatic, a number of times, but with no succes. Also tried force-installing the driver, but no luck.. They all fail with the same error message, telling me to turn on or plug in the bluetooth device. But as you may have guessed, it is already turned on (the notebook has a switch for wireless connections). The weird thing is the device doesn't even show up in device manager. Any thought on how I can get it working? Thanks in advance!

 

I don't have the Asus F3TC, but you can always do yourself a favor and post your specs ...

Maybe the F3TC uses a radio connected to an internal USB port. If so you might need some patch similar to what Dell has made available for the i1520 to reenable that port when the OS is installed with it off.

 

It doesn't apply to the F3TC, but try some of the suggestions from this thread for the Asus C90
