I have an older ASUS PRO50G notebook (purchased 2009).
I need Bluetooth to monitor my recently installed Solar PV installation.
My notebook has a lamp on the front edge of the keyboard with a Bluetooth symbol but I have never seen it illuminated. I can't find Bluetooth in the Device Manager.
Is there a module or dongle that will give my notebook Bluetooth capability?
    Bob.

I would recommend buying a USB bluetooth adapter. There is probably a header on your motherboard for an internal bluetooth module, but you would need to find the correct part number and also source the cable for it. It is likely to be less capable than a newer USB dongle anyway, since the bluetooth standards have been updated since 2009.
