I'm close to buying a Fujitsu 3510. It doesn't have an integrated Bluetooth card, but I understand that I could always get one to put in a slot. I currently don't have any Bluetooth accessories or equipment but looking more for the future.

Is there any difference in function between a built in Bluetooth vs adding one via an external card, other than the fact that a card would jet out from the side?

No, it's roughly the same. I assume you mean PCMCIA, if so, there are some that will sit flush.

i also recommend a pcmcia card, its alot more convinient than a usb adapter, even though the usb is fairly small (some are big but the dlink is ultra small) the pcmcia card you wont have to remove even if you are throwing your lappy back into a bag or backpack.
