Hey. I have been having some problems with certain people in my network accessing sites that I don't want them getting on. I mainly want to block MySpace on all computers within the network, and only within the network.

So, is there a way to block access to sites from the router? I have a D-Link DI-514. I would go to each computer and edit the HOSTS file, but some computers aren't always in the network and I don't want to restrict access to the site from everywhere, just my house.

    Thanks for the help.

Some routers have that feature, others do not. My WRT54GS has it. Just log in and look around. My old ****py Netgear even had the feature.

If they are then that's an even better reason to censor it. Parents need to keep a leash on their kids nowadays.

My router does have a filtering feature that should block by URL or Domain, but it doesn't seem to be working. :S

I've rebooted the router and messed with everything and nothing has come from it.

    Hmmm. Any ideas?

Are you entering everything properly? The manual should have step-by-step instructions. Maybe reset the router and then try?

Your 514 may have it. My 524 did. dLink probably has an emulator and helpfile on its website.

Myspace sucks anyways. Emo heaven. Blocking it takes away any possibility of it harming a child.

*sigh*, there is not such thing as emo.

get it out of your heads.

And so what? You dont have to have any on your friend list.

Im a smart myspace user, had it for almost a year and only 37 friends all of which I know, except the bands.

Have you considered adding a domain controller (a server) to your network? Doing so would give you complete control.
