Hi, I have a NetGear router from Virgin and I was wondering how I block SkyPlayer during certain times of the day because it uses too much bandwidth? Could anyone help me? I have tried telling my flatmates this but they leave skyplayer running when they dont need to and its killing my internet access!!

Im not too familiar with port blocking, but my big problem is that I dont know what port I need to block. Google is not helping my on this one apparently :D HELP!

Don't think you can block ports per say with cheaper routers, probably a managed switch could do that.

Anyways, what you really want to do is setup up QoS and set it to "BULK" or "Background" level. What this does is gives it lowest priority on bandwidth. If nobody is using the bandwidth they get to watch but as soon as someone goes online for X reason, their bandwidth will get chopped away to give whatever other service more priority.
