    Hello!

I wanna set up a trusted home network..but simply I can`t..I think it`s because of BItdefender Internet Security 2008..
I have a laptop and a desktop pc. I want to set up a network so both of the computers could use internet and transfer files..
I have Bitdefender Internet Security on both of them..I know the best thing is that i would buy a router..i haven`t enough money at the moment and this is an urgent situation..
I have two lan cards on my desktops pc and i want to share internet connection and file sharing between the pc and the laptop!

I run Windows XP Network Wizard.. choose all the settings and everything works good that far..I can find each computer on "view workgroup computers" but I still have no Internet on my laptop..I can find each computer but cant connect it just says that i have no access and i have to contact administrator or something like that..

I think it`s Bitdefender Internet Security 2008 what blocks all the lan traffic ( On my desktop pc internet works fine, i just cant connect with the laptop..)

Can you guys help me please? How do i need to configure Bitdefender Internet Security 2008 when I`m using home based-trsuted network between two computers?

    Thanks for any help!

Not familar with netdefender, But you need to add a FW rule to allow local traffic. Use the built in help and search for rules, add rules.

It seems sort of added..Still can`t find anything that could block the traffic...What stuff needs to be added on Windows so that Windows doesnt block the traffic?

I have posted up this in two bitdefender forums, still no answer..
I guess i just need to get a router and and a new cable.

Try setting it up with out any FW, once you get it working then activate the FW.

    lets back up.

you have 1 pc that connect to the www and the other is connected to the pc.

Need to turn on Internet Connection Sharing. Make sure you can still connect to your isp.
Then you need to make the lan port that goes to the other pc a Bridge Connection. You may also need to make the main nic the ICS port. Once this is done it should beable to go surfing.
