Waiting on my Thinkpad Z60M with the Intel 2915ABG wireless card. I will be using this laptop in my house and on multiple floors. What is a good recommendation for a good router.

    All help is appreciated!

    Hi daveojeda,
Maybe if you wish, check my "What router to buy" guide (link in my sig) and then maybe post back which one interests you.

I bought a Linksys WRT54G about two weeks ago. I have a Thinkpad T43 which also has the Intel 2915ABG wireless card built in. So far I have only one minor complaint. I noticed that sometimes the connection speed seems to drop down from 54Mbps to 24 Mbps, but after a short while comes back to 54Mbps again. Other than that I'm happy with the Linksys router. It was easy to setup and the 2915ABG card detected it right away. Signal strength also seems to be pretty good.

    Hi srts1fh-

Try this and pick your router and what version off of that list and try downloading new firmware to fix that problem. It might work but it might not.

    Hi nickspohn,
    Thanks for your help.
I already updated the firmware to the latest revision. Did not fix the problem. Its only a minor problem for me since most of the time I do only regular browsing where the speed drop is not noticeable.
