I believe the N-band hasn't been finalised and released by the IEEE. All "n-band" routers and adapters are "pre n-band".

The Belkin N1 is apparently one of the best, but very expensive. I would recommened buying a Normal G band router. 54Mbps is a sufficient transfer speed for almost anything.

None of them till spec is finallized and hav been certified by Wi-Fi. Mid 2008
And definately not Belkin. They test fine but have low reliability, along with the higher failure rate over any other brands. I don't like them and do not recommend them (Belkin), nothing but problems.

I would say the Asus WL500W is a pretty good pre N router at the moment. But I hear the pre N draft 2.0 specs are gonna compatible with the N routers. So it should be good if you get it.

I am a die hard linksys fan, but people seem to like netgear better.

I heard the Belkin N1 is terrible... I hope not, because I ordered one along with my Inspiron 1520 about a week ago. I can't tell you if it's any good until I get it in a few more weeks.

im testing out the buffalo whr-hp-g54 right now.. its a g based router but if you use it with a mimo adapter it does 125mbs... and tons of firmware out there.

the reason i picked this unit to try first (my first wireless router lol) is due to its transmit / recieve capabilities.. the built in amp can be boosted via firmware to far exceed that of many if not most other of any a,b,g, or n routers out there.

up to 241+ i believe. it can be overclocked to around 240+mhz.. and ive heard of even more if a heat sink is added onto the broadcom chip inside..

i am still asking whats the "best" router out there myself.. if i find it ill post it!!! so far the buffalo is SUPER STABLE and does its rated throughput..

remember just because someone says they are using xxx router and it gives them 300mbs does not mean you will get the same exact results every situation is different.. thus the reason i searched for the most stable best distance combo i could find and it seems from all the reviews EVERYWHERE the buffalo is one of those

The WRT300N By linksys is great. I bought it Well over a year ago and it still works great. Never had any non self inflicted problems ( my stupidity plays a role in that).

Great to hear! Oh, I'm talking about the Belkin N1. I'm sad to hear about your divorce. And that your D-Link disconnects so often.

    :)
