I am currently attending school and i like to play MMORPGs however our WiFi here blocks us from doing so and our rooms are not setup so we can have our own broadband services no outlets for coax or rj45 hook ups.
I would like to know if there are any hotspots recommended for gaming online providing i am not mobile and have unlimited data usage. I was piggy backing on another WiFI from a friends network and it ran my game perfect, but now i'm without. Will a hotspot work for my gaming ?

None of them. No true unlimited/unthrottled cellular data either at remotely affordable rates. Data caps are very low on cellular data plans and they are expensive. Nothing like what cable, DSL, or fiber optic data plans give you.

That just depends on the operator. My record so far has been 600GB in one month, when I gave one of the co-SIM cards along an usb modem for a friend when he was "between dsl's" due two operators messing up.

I've seen plenty of people game with 4G connection. Games do not need that much data, only low latency. So game updates and other stuff should be done via dsl but 4G should work just fine for the game itself.

Thank you for the replies. Yes i was thinking of using the hotspot for strictly my actual game play and for all downloads and updates i have another WiFi connection available. Its just the WiFi service available to me has a port block so games online cannot be played unless they are through facebook and well thats not my type of gaming i enjoy. I thought of trying to go through another proxy however this wouldn't work because i have to sign in through an actual game launcher and not directly from IE.
