    anyone no which is the best cable router for dwonloadind p2p files i have a linksys wrt54g and people say it is not good for this

    they say that the speed is no good for the files and the firmware is no good
    but its good for surfing so was going to buy one just for p2p but do not no which will be the best cable one????

    The speed? Its wireless G...unless you wanna spend lots of a N router...

    i think it is more to do with the firmware on the router
    they say you can use dd-wrt but if you go wrong will installing the fireware flash you can f up your router so was going to see if i can use a other router but do not what to have the same problem are the n routers the best way to go

    With Linksys WRT54G it depends on what version it is? v1-4 are good, v5+ stink. The GL (linux) version is the new model number for the original WRT54G. The v7 GS I worked on were terrible, too.

    You can install dd-wrt mini into the WRT65G v5+ routers, but you must follow the instruction to a tee. Others wise you may brick it.

    The p2p can push hardware if you not not cap it. Now remember your uplink speed is normally the slowest. A lot of ISP have started blocking ports uses by P2P.
