Could anybody help me decide what router I need at the fire station I work at? There are several of us there that use laptops and Xbox 360's and Playstation 3's on line at one time. Which router would be best (for under $100) to use for a combination of these wireless devices working at the same time. Usually no more than a couple of laptops and two game systems are being used at one time. Thanks for any help.

the Linksys WRT54GL is a good choice, a highly recommended wireless router. it'll be able to handle all of those wireless devices and stay cool at the same time. it has a fairly good range (my cousins from next door and my neighbors on the floor below me) and are able to get a good signal. i am able to attain an excellent connection with the router being in the front of the house and me at the back. Thats half a living room, master bedroom, a kitchen and a closet that the signal goes through to give you an idea. the price makes it a good buy as well.

there are also a few other models that give you greater ranger, if thats what you need.

I would stay away from belkin, I tried 6 times and all of them failed in less than 1 mo, and 1 did not even work out of the box. The Linksys WRT54GL would be the easiest to find. Buffalo makes a good cheap router but hard to find, Since you will be gaiming the Dlink DGL-4300 would be a good choice. Go to smallnetbuilder.com and use the router table, you will need to look at symontanious connections since you will have multiple user gaming at the same time.
