The subject pretty much sums it up.

My wife's latitude 620 has been dropping connection at her office after working for only a couple of days. I've tried more than one wireless router there, so I suspect it's the Dell/Broadcom 1490 minicard that is the problem. Right now it's a Netgear WGR614 v6. (It took substantial effort experimenting with drivers just to get this card to connect, arggh!) At home we have a WPN824 v2.

I've read some good things (or just WackyT repeating himself :)) about the Atheros-based adapters. Based on other info I turned up in a search, that may match the chipset used in our Rangemax router at home. But I'm not really after speed - I just want reliable connections.

    Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure exactly if your laptop has a restrictive whitelist on its wireless cards, but I might suggest the Thinkpad 11a/b/g PCI-e wireless card. Its an Atheros based card, and it has been working with every network I have been around. You can also pick it up for like 40 bucks from most places.

Yup... The Atheros based A/B/G is what I use in my Dell...
