I'm looking for a wireless g router. Range isn't that much of a factor because I shoudn't be more than 50 feet from the router. My major concerns are good connection speed, stable connection (as in doesn't drop often), and security so my neighbors and/or others can't hack into my network. I'll only have one computer on my wireless network if that matters. Thanks.

The one I prefer is the
BUFFALO WHR-HP-G54 IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless-G MIMO Broadband Router and Access Point
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16833162134

(stronger than the stock Linksys(listed above) still flashable with third party firmware to up the power. I share internet access with my neighbor 200 feet away in 2 different houses. Though that doesn't say much considering LOS, and obstructions in my area)

That linksys is still very very good. Buffalo tends to lean a small amount to the more advance home users out of the box. Its just doesn't have the name Linksys dose. I personally would go with what ever is cheaper or what ever your gut tells you to go with. But keep it between these too and you will make a good choice no mater what.

Ohh there is a great D-link router out. though I am lost atm remembering its model number.

I have the Linksys wrt54gl from Frys. It is a very good router. I have had it for 3 weeks.
I have 2 laptops hooked up to it. Just make sure if you need tech support not all techs now what the hell they are doing.

SpeedBooster can be enabled on WRT54GL via DD-WRT but you won't see increased speed unless your notebook uses Broadcom radio chip.

As for the best G router ASUS WL-500G Premium and Linksys WRTSL54GS are better than WRT54GL- similar hardware but faster CPUs (also Broadcom) and twice the RAM and flash of GL.

Still all three are able to run 3rd party firmwares and are solid routers.
