I'm really new to N, and while it is still in the draft phase, I'm keenly interested in its MIMO ability for coverage. I've read everyone has loved the WRT54G/WRT54GL router, and am wondering if anything of that quality exists for 11n?

Right now NO. Till the standard is finalized, we can not judge. Every mfg has been doing there own thing. We are now just starting to see hardware with the 1.1 draft spec.

So you are going to have to wait a while longer, ~9+mo.

blue, do you think it's even worth it to get intel's N with a new laptop? I might get it, but then just get the WRT54G and wait for a really good N router.

Right now most mfg THINK their hardware will work with a finalized 11n. But none are guaranteeing that it will work finalized spec. We went through this with 11g and most all were not compatible. Most all are trying to make them work with minimal hardware, cpu, ram.. Last time the cpu did not have the hp to handle the encryption, 10-40% hit.

It may be work the extra cost to get the required wiring to support 3 antennas. The just set it back to 11g only. But as far as a Router I would definitely hold off on the 11n router. Will probably be ~1yr before we see hardware being shipped with finalized spec.
