    Hey guys -

I've run into some issues. Each time I miss my favourite TV shows, which always happens, I stream them using certain websites. I can still access certain ones, but they're updated 3-4 days later ...the one's that are blocked update the same day.

    Lately, I've had this error:
...in every browser. My American friends are able to access these sites perfectly fine without issues, but my brother and I cannot (who lives locally). This has been an issue with both Bell Canada and Cogeco Cable here in my area.

Anyways, what's the best way to bypass this? I was using a proxy today but it was incredibly slow.

Edit: It's not my firewall/AV. At one point when I switched AV, I tried the website when I had none (in-between switching) and it was still the same result.

It looks like you are maybe trying to connect to sketchy websites that are overloaded...

The chrome error is because of something filtering your net connections, like a firewall, antivirus, or peer filtering software. You said it's not AV but it is something on your computer (or router) filtering connections.

You can use a tool like ping to see if the server is up or not. There are also sites like this one that will tell you if a site is down: Down For Everyone Or Just Me -> Check if your website is down or up?

Hmm, possibly the router. The site is confirmed up and it's working on a proxy, so I'm just not sure. I'll try tinkering with the router and see. All I wanted to do is catch up on the Spartacus episodes I missed on TV. Thanks for the help ;)

If it's not down, and you don't think it's your software, then try a traceroute. That will tell you where your connection is dying on either your local network or the internet.

If your modem and router is separate, you can try go on there by just plugging in the modem. Maybe even try safe mode with networking .

    Aha!

It was the router all along. My brother and I are using the exact same router. I jumped through hoops trying to figure it out. Odd that it only blocked some tv stream sites. Now I can watch some of the Spartacus S3 episodes that I missed :D

    Thanks for the help guys.
