I appear to be having difficulty upgrading to a N network.
    I have 4 wireless devices (Dell1575, HP nc6320, Netgeaar MP115 & Wii).
they use mainly G but the Dell uses N which is used the most.
I have a Linksys WRT610N but I get intermittent connection speeds between 1-130mbps. This effects all wireless devices. Intel won't help as Dell installed it, Dell can't understand the problem and Linksys stop the WRT even broadcaasting.

I'm desperate for either settings or the best router for the job.

I currently am using the D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit router for my cable internet modem. (obviously still need the cable modem to plug into the router).
I would definitely recommend this router, especialy for mixed wireless for bgn.
I believe it is not a compatible..., doesn't state it anywhere that it is a

BUT it does state in my setup " 802.11 Mode : Mixed 802.11n, 802.11g and 802.11b " that is currently what I am using right now.

Hope this mixed wireless setting mode will help you pick the right router, the DIR-655 D-Link is just a choice, there are many others that people may recommend to you.

I don't own WRT610N, only singleband WRT310N, but I'm able to get connection up to 270Mbps with Dell Wireless 1510 & Intel WiFi Link 5100.

Have you enabled the Radio Band Wide - 40MHz Channel in the wireless router?
