I just bought Belkin Wireless Router N150 from Walley World to replace my Netgear G that I have to reboot frequently. When I tried download something via wifi or cable, it would not complete and hang with interenet access. I am thinking its something I'm missing inthe setup. I don't think it's the router, because it's still connected. Anyone had any ideas please help. I would like to return it but no longer have the original box.

Is your computer connected by both wire and wireless simulataneously?

Have you tried the download later to be sure the trouble is not at the other end?

Have you checked for router firmware updates that might apply?

Yes, it's connected with main desktop and wireless.

I am sure it's not the other end because I would try downloading from different IP.

    Firmware is up to date.

I think there's something with it's security or firewall setting.

Does this mean your computer is wired to the router and is using a wireless connection to the router... at the same time? If so, try downloading with just one connection active... disconnect the wire OR disable the wireless.

The default router security should not be stopping downloads.

Belkin routers are about the worst quality you can buy. Pick up a Linksys or D-Link instead.

I like linksys myself. By what I have used before, I think belkin is much better than Netgear atleast.

I'll just play with it some more. Right now just using it as extender.

I do not recommend Belkin to anyone who want reliable service. What you describe is typical of Belkin, high failure rate. They seam to test well but not reliable, the lowest quality you can get. Return it and get a Netgear, Sisco or even a Buffalo is better than Belkin.

I'll put the netgear switches and wireless routers I've used against those of Belkin anyday. The only think Belkin makes that I like is my old F8E208 ergo keyboards. Maybe some cable ends here and there.
