Recently tried the Belkin N1 router that I got from a friend, some how the Wireless N network have very poor signal when using it with my Toshiba laptop with the built-in Intel 4965AGN.
My question is that, does the Belkin N1 only works good with Belkin N adapters? or is it just that Intel 4965AGN's N mode not good at all?
Also, are there any Wireless-N router with strong signal and can output enhanced G band around $120?(even better if it can work good with the Intel 4965AGN) :D :D
    thank you!
hated the wireless technology for 4 years since tried it the 1st time in 2003, but finally made up my mind and want to totally get rid of those wires... :p

Belkin network hardware is (in my experience) garbage. Find something from another company, and it will perform better. Linksys and Netgear are usually good.

Enhanced G only works if the router AND THE WIFI CARD support it. Intel cards do not support any form of enhanced G, so its a waste of money for you.

Belkin products seam to always test fairly good. But my experence with them is that they are not reliable. I went through 3 wired routers at a friends house. They would work for 2 days then lockup. The only way to get it working again was a HARD reset after it set unplugged for 1 hr. 1 replacement was dead out of the box. So like Greg said BELKIN IS JUNK. The problems your are experiencing may more than likely be hardware (and fireware) related. SO don't judge any network product if all you have used is Belkin. Belkin rates a -10 on 0-10 scale.

Just remember that 11n is still in draft and will be so for another year. And its highly possiable that the current models may not meet the final spec. Even though they say any v2 hardware router should be up gradeable. They said the same thing for 11b and 11g hardware. Yes, most were upgradable but you would loose 25-50% of your speed, due to limited resources. This is why Ram and flashram is so important in a router. The larger it is the more features you get and the better they perform. (example Lnksys WRT54G v5 and up). My advice is hold off on 11n router if you can. Network adapters are different because their needed resources comes from the pc.
