    So,
After living with crappy wi-fi reception in my local area, I decided to buy an external wi-fi option. Namely, the bearextender PC... It arrived today and works like a charm. Connected wirelessly to my N network.. full bars. full speed... kinda shocked that something i bought actually worked as (if not better) than advertised. I just thought I'd plug it if anyone isnt super happy with their wireless card and doesn't mind a little clip on their laptop. The increase range is pretty awesome.

I am thinking of getting one. Wanted to have a good reception when in a restaurants/coffee shops near the school; but also wondering if it could improve my ping during online gaming cessions. Did you notice an improvement in latency (low ping results). Would be great if you could do a ping test.
    Thanks

    ^^ those are jokes right ? ;)

    Rokland doesn't make .. it's resells.

Don't buy anything made in usa .. they have to follow fcc regulations ... channel range / transmission power limited down.

And seriously max range they test 350ft for the antennas in the other site :p lol I can reach a lot more and that is meters not feet :p (in areas km-s)

AWUS036H the old one still the best what 1 can get ... it has the best driver support .. and no regulations flowed all channel and power can be unlocked ;P

If you want to get even more range just get an other 1W powered amplifier .. and a 20dbi antenna ... with that you will sure broke every regulations without having license ...
But if anyone got wireless g in 1km range you will find it for sure. And with directional antennas 10Km to the record 3xx Km in mountains with clear line of sight.

The Alfa USB Wi-Fi adapter I bought a week ago has tripled my signal strength. I highly doubt anything can do better. On top of that it's apparently the longest range adapter on the market.

Alfa AWUS036NH 2000mW Best Long Range USB Wireless Adapter for 802.11N. w/Jack & Antenna

That's an authorised reseller. I cant say I've ever been happier. Was going to get a bearextender but they don't really 'sell' their product on their page. I haven't heard anything 'overly' good about them.

Got the N version too it's now collecting dust.
It's crap for scan/connect on the go.
Took me a good while of testing but understood the big waring on their site.

85% of networks (at least in my area) are 'n' these days. On top of that all routers on the market these days are 'n' by default. I love the usb wi-fi I got :)
