(Sorry for the amateur question in advance)

I have a Dell desktop with an ethernet internet connection through Verizon.

I also have an Apple Macbook laptop, which I would like to connect wirelessly through the house.

Is it true that all I need to buy is a router, or do I need to buy any more components to complete the setup?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes, all you need is a wireless G router. And maybe a second ethernet cord.
