Hey guys, I've been getting some frequent disconnects when I play online with my PS3 so I got a tip I should forward my ports for that specific game, which happens to be Metal Gear Online 2. MGO2 uses default port 5730, which I have been using and is the port I forwarded to.

I have a Linksys WRT100 router and my main computer has a static IP and I've done all that fancy stuff and "everything" seems fine but how do I know for sure my forwarding worked?

Another quick question, MGO has an option in the network settings that allows me to change my upload speed, there is 96 KB,128,256, and 512. I ran a speedtest and my upload speed is 185 KB. I have been using 512 hoping that would result in smoother gameplay. Am I right or wrong? Could 512 be too much?

All depends on what type of service you have. Some ISP (DSL) are only 128kmps or less up speed. Lag is more criticle than the data pack you send.

I have Comcast Cable's 4 MB Down service and 2 MB Up (supposedly) but my PS3 is connected wirelessly but is in the same room (I don't have an ethernet cord long enough to reach my router).
