    Hi guys.

I've got a Linksys WRT160N (V3) running on firmware 3.03 (the latest) wireless router.

For some weird reason, my ISP has decided to keep the DHCP lease times to only 2 hours 5 mins on our internet connections, which means we have to refresh/renew every 2 hours or so since the router will drop the internet connection. Is there anyway to set the WRT160 to auto release/renew the IP address?

    THanks!!

What type of internet connection do you have?

WRT160N is only a router, the DHCP lease times are only for your LAN.

Its your modem/WAN IP that will need to be renewed.

I had one ISP that had a 4 day lease time. My Netgear router had a problem with the firmware and would only work about 1/2 the time. The bug only showed up if the lease was greater than 24 hrs. Netgear finally got the firmware corrected and all works fine now. My current ISP renews every 2 hrs but no problem with my router. By default if you have it set up to use a DHCP server it should auto update. If it's not try the older firmware release and see if it works better. I would also contact Linksys/Sisco and report the problem. Most mfg have sub releases or fixes for the firmware that they do not post. So its possiable to get a release this is not public that works.
