Bought the new Atheros mpci card and now it seems that I can't get it to work on my T43 due (apparently) - not an authorized card (BIOS issues). I've got the latest BIOS. Any ideas on how to get around it?

Update your drivers for it by going to there site or do a google search. Might just want to do a firmware upgrade also for your router by going to your routers manufacter site and downloading it from there.

Should have bought the IBM 11a/b/g card. It is Phillips/Atheros based, and is authorized on the laptop.

Is it a driver issue? I can't even boot up with the card installed....

What error message or error code are you receiving when you boot? Is this an IBM branded card with an Atheros chipset or just some run of the mill Atheros card? If you have the later, it will not work as the T43's BIOS checks to make sure that you are using an IBM "approved" PCMCIA card and halts the boot sequence if you are not.

Go with what Jason said then

You never mentioned it couldn't boot up with the card installed.
