    I heard Atheros is less power consuming than Intel's, but i wonder how much difference does it make in term of battery life? 5 mins, 10 mins etc..?

    Atheros may be less power consuming but Intel and Centrino would give you better battery performance overall for your entire system. But probably not enough to where you would notice it. Atheros on the other hand offers super g 108 which can be handy but isn't a widely used feature and imo doesnt offer that much benefit. So for your delima I think it comes down to preference.
