    Hello everyone. Im just a newbie in the forum. I want to ask you a question if you dont mind.

    I bought a laptop last week, it is ASUS K53SV-SX144D, Its a great monster but Im still not sure about its wireless card. Its Atheros AR9002WB-1NG (half size) and also has got Bluetooth module built in. Im not an expert about wireless networking and cards but when i compare my laptop's wireless range to other laptops (4 example HP G62 series , Broadcom 4313 b/g/n and Acer series, Intel 4965 agn) Its not very good in my oppinion.

    I also have got Intel wifi link 5100 card (half size) from my old laptop which was caput. It also have got 2 antenna inputs like Atheros AR9002WB has...

    My question is simple;

    If i swap my wireless card to Intel 5100 one, will i get a big difference at wireless range and a better connection?

    Hope i can get the answer of my question very soon :)

    You may test the actual data rate other than the signal strength.

    The Intel Card supports Dual band 2.4 & 5 GHz while Atheros only supports 2.4GHz so Intel is definitely better.
