I got a 1000HD netbook for Christmas. It has an Atheros AR5007EG wireless network adaptor. I have a Linksys WRT54GS router. The netbook continually drops the signal. When it's working, the transmit rate is 54 Mbps and the receive rate is the same. When it drops the signal, the receive rate drops to 1 or 2 Mbps while the transmit rate stays as 54 Mbps. I also use a Linksys WRE54G range expander. Netbook runs XP and the wireless control is through windows. Also tried running through Atheros Client Utility. Problem is worse. I have a laptop running vista and don't really have problems with it. Any help is appreciated.

Does this happen with other routers, too, or just the router you have?

I have used the netbook with public wifi and it picked up the signal no problem. (Barnes & Noble and Best Buy)
