I just reinstalled Vista and am having a bit of a problem. I am sure it has been addressed here before but could not find it.

My internet doesnt immediately connect/confirm and it slows down my total start time as a result.

I can hit the Explorer icon and IE7 will work, although the lil monitors still have the red cross through them....but...email will not work.

It takes about an extra 8-10 sec to get this confirmed and use Windows Mail.

    Thoughts?

Have you tried restoring the operating system instead of reinstalling? I'd give that a shot and see if the problem disappears. If it does, go through all settings with a fine tooth comb and see what was installed/configured that's different from a standard install.

The delay could be results of FW and AV doing a scan or slow to startup. Then if your running Norton it requires 1/2 of all your resources. Then you have all of the programs you installed checking for updates at startup. So if your tray (rt) is full of programs, try leaning it out. These are requiring resources. 90% of the programs do not need to be there.
