Hey gang, I'm thinking of applying for a support job at Linksys. But I am not sure about which things I should study in order to get the job, so if anyone has any recommendations please feel free to advise!

    Thanks!

I dont know much about this job, but i would assume that one would know how to explain/do the following. First off I would be knowledgeable on how to set up a wireless network, because believe it or not there are MANY people that dont know how to set one up. Next, I would suggest going to their website where they have FAQs and the support page and learn that stuff and you should be alright I guess.

I'd study their user's manuals. Seeing as you're going to be providing support for their equipment.

are you applying for the basic teir 1 support or to be a teir 2 technician? As far as I know for the basic phone support the people don't much more than just read of the linksys knowldge base. If ou have more advanced questions it takes a teir two tech to help. I personally requestteir two support every time I call. I also have a different number to call that they are more willing to pass the call on. Sorr to go on a tangent there. If you are going for basic phone support I tihnk the most important thing is good communication skills. Have to deal with upset customers that don't know what a router is let alone how to plug it in. The knowledge base provides the majority of the "answers and procedures"

on a side note is the linksys tech support at their office in Irvine, CA?

...if you do not know what to "study" should you even be tying for a job in support? Not being snotty with that but asking an honest question.
