    Hi,

Anyone use the Netgear RangeMax wireless router?

If so, how is the the range on it with a built-in Centrino / Intel PRO 2915 Internal Wireless 802.11 a/b/g, 54Mbps? (I don't plan on getting the special Netgear adapter.)

I realize that to get the extra SPEED boost you need the Netgear adapter... but what about the extra RANGE boost? Can that be achieved with the built-in Centrino? Or do you need the adapter for that too?

Anyone know, or have this setup?

    Thanks...

Just got this one yesterday for my sister and hooked it up
in her new house. Really nice router. For another computer
in the basement below, I got 108MB/s with a Netgear wireless
card. Didn't test it much more than that, but if range, signal is
an issue for you, I'd recommend it.

Netgear routers are my favorite products. I have 2 in my
house and have had no problems with them. Work great.

Wait, let me just clarify -- did you try it with the Netgear card, or without it?

I'll be running my laptop with the internal Centrino setup, so I'm curious to hear about the range on this router when NOT using the Netgear adapter.

    netspots,

Just remember the Centrino Set up are having problems With the 2200BG cards as well as the 2915ABG cards as well. so keep that in mind and they dont support 108mbps Max is 54mbps.

Thanks, but I don't think my home cable access even comes close to 54mbps, so 108mbps is just a dream. :)

Sorry, yes the computer in the basement was using
a WG511T Netgear card. I also turned on another wireless
HP laptop with the HP wireless card and got a signal
across the house - that laptop was her work laptop and
needs an upgrade to support WPA, so it didn't actually
    connect.
