    Anyone tried Dell 5700 Verizon Express Card?

    Since my E1505 Express Card slot does not accept the Verizon Mobile Broadband PC II card, I noticed that about a month ago, Dell offered an Express Card version of the Verizon mobile broadbank card. Has anyone tried it? Does it work just like the Verizon card does? Did you have Dell activation service set it up for you or did you just call Verizon? Do tell.

    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

    My post in the dell site was shut down because i posted here, but I had cross posted for a reason - I didn't think I would get any responses. And, I have not. Apparently no one has tried this card? Hard to believe when the backorder at dell is over a month. If the backorder is that high, I would think lots of people are ordering and surely someone has tried this card with Verizon.

    If you have, please let me know the good, bad and ugly about it.

    I haven't tried it but I saw where Verizon was offering an Express card now. About the same price, expensive.

    PS the Dell site doesn't allow you to cross post here?

    thanks for the info - i haven't checked the verizon site in a while.

    I meant the dell section of notebookreview.com won't let me post both here and in the dell section also.

    but i'm going to check out verizon right now - i checked about a month ago and they didn't have it.

    I have an unlimited evdo plan from verizon on my treo 700, and I use the treo as a broadband modem connected through usb when I want to get access online when not at home. I'm guessing its going to be the same when using the card. I like it a lot, and its pretty speedy, def. not as fast as wifi though, but good enough to stream tv programs from my slingbox at home just to give you an idea of the speed. its not meant for downloading huge files, but for smaller files, moderate streaming and browsing, its second to none. I also feel prefer to use it over public wifi because I feel its more secure.
