Anyone know anything about a wireless adapter not-working/dissapearing?

Basically while i was surfing online, I lost connection. When i tried to troubleshoot, it said that i had no cable connected even though i only connect to the internet through wifi.

I go check the device manager to see if it got disabled somehow (I have a switch on my laptop to turn it off), and for some reason it didn't even show up on the list. I've been google-ing with some vague terms, and found a few different things. But none of them bring up any details, so I have no idea if i actually have a problem here or not.

This is the first time it has happened, my drivers are up-to-date. There was no error message, no firewall message, no anti virus message. I have all the current/recent windows updates, and my laptop wasn't overheated at the time for it to crap out or anything.

Without knowing what brand/model or type of components your computer has, I can only guess.

So, I assume your laptop has nvidia chipset and amd cpu and now the chipset is failing.

It could be something else, that was just the first and most common reason I could think of.

On my old laptop, I had the exact same problem and it turned out that the wireless network card was loose from the connector. I just had to open my laptop and plug it back into the connector. It's worth a shot to see if this is your case.
