This is a long shot but I'm wondering whether anyone knows anything about the Siemens Gigaset voip phones (S685IP/S475IP). I bought one a few months ago and it has been working well with VOIP.co.uk for incoming calls and Justvoip for outgoing calls (Im in the UK).

However, last week the audio on Justvoip mysteriously stopped working. Now when I make an outgoing call there is no audio either way. The other number does still ring (even though I can't hear this through the phone), then when the person answers it ,the phone connects but there is no audio either way.

I spent a very frustrating day on this and I've established that it's not just a problem with Justvoip but with any betamax subsidiary I try (smslisto, voipcheap, voipdiscount etc.). However, when I make outgoing calls with voip.co.uk or sipgate work they work fine (excellent quality audio)

I've spent the last 2 days googling this but haven't come up with anything. If anyone has an idea what the problem might be or a forum which might help me I would REALLY appreciate it.

    Thanks

PS: Just to warn you I'm not the techno savy so the idea of fixed IP addresses, port forwarding, stun servers etc. goes way over my head. But if you think this is the problem I am happy to try and learn!

    Hello,
yes, I had exactly the same problem. In my case (and at least one other person) the cause for this problem lied in the recent firmware update.
After contacting the SIEMENS support they adviced me to put in the audio settings of the device the codecs in the following order for all accounts you have.

    g.711 alaw
    g.711 µlaw
    g.722
    g.726
    g.729

In order to do this go to the web interface of your device (you will get the IP address of you device by pressing the blue button on the base station the phone will ring and display the ip address of the base station).

After loggin on to the web interface go to
    Settings
    Telephony
    Audio

There you can define the right order.

    Hope that helps.
