I thought I had a good download/upload speed before, but after talking to some people, I realize that my speed is kinda bad. I get 190-207 KB/s Download speed and my upload speed being 30-51 KB/s. I have tried the Internet Download Manager but the speed was only increased to 216-233 Kb/s. Please, if anyone knows how I could get a faster download/upload speed, I would appreciate it a lot. Also, if you need it, my ISP is AT&T and I have the supposed High Speed Internet and the internet box is 2Wire 2701HG-B. Thanks to those that can help.

It seems that you have 2mbps/512kbps connection and in that case you already get the max possible speeds. There is no way to increase it with software, you need to pay for a higher speed connection.

what he said. internet speeds are, for the largest part, limited by your connection/price plan, not hardware/software.

I have had their 3mb/sec package for a few years and its been solid. I am upgrading to the 6mb package on the 31'st (its the soonest they could come out).

On the 3mb connection i get 320 kb/sec download and 50-55 kb/sec upload. The 6 mb connection should net it around 640 download and 75-80 upload. And its only 5 dollars a month more than the 3 mb connection, id say its worth it :)

I was paying more for digital cable (comcast), home telephone & DSL (AT&T) until I got smart and signed up for triple play (digital cable, home phone & internet) from comcast for $120/month. I ended up saving $100 a month. I'm currently downloading @ 16MB+ (1.5 - 2.5 MB actual) & uploading @ 2MB+ (200 - 250 KB actual).

I'm not sure if you have cable & your telephone service are but do take a look at comcast triple play. See if you're able to save as I did. Plus, downloading is crazy fast on cable compared to AT&T DSL.

Ok, I ran a connection speed test and I got this when doing nothing with my computer (but I was connected to PSN).

And then this when I was loading a 3-Minute HD Video.

    Is that good??

    EDIT:

Ok, I now download at 625 on average which is a huge improvement. Elite Package eh. Now it only takes me 4 Minutes to download a 170MB file while it use to take me about 17 minutes. Yay for improvement. I wonder what my Upload Speed is now though....
