Looking to upgrade the wireless card in my gateway e-100m and found this card from a company called ubiquiti:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/802-11b-g-n-Ubiquiti-MINI-PCI-ADAPTER-SR71-12-500mW_W0QQitemZ160360039978QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item255634062a&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

Has anyone tried this card or one similar to improve the range of their wifi. I'm looking for something for long range that is internal. Would appreciate any suggestions. Card does not necessarily have to be 802.11n but at least 802.11g

    No it will not work

Wrong interface..I think you have a intel 3945 card now

The wireless adapter you have is a mini-pci-e
    That card is a mini-pci

    Wrong antenna conections
    That card has MMCX connectors

    You need u.fl connectors

Look on this link for a compatable card that is from UBIQUITI
    its a SR71E

Duh yes you are right about the pci-e but the card currently in my laptop is the intel 5100. Currently looking for something with better range costing no more than $150.00. Looking for the best reliable card out there within my budget.

Are there any other cards that are mini pci-e in the 400mW - 600mW range that you know of? Looks like Ubiquiti is still having some issues as far as users being able to change settings in relation to maximum throughput.

    Not that I have seen
I do plan on buying one sometime to test
I read somewhere that Ubiquiti is in the process of making up an application to address those issues ,and to allow more user configuration options
