I have some HP/Lenovo Intel 6300 wifi cards that do not want to work in anything other than IBM/HP systems, giving code 10 after drivers install. I've tried to re-write the EEPROM in Linux with the generic device ID instead of the HP/Lenovo specific ID, and the writer claims to have written to the EEPROM, but in fact, there is no change. Two bytes keep this from working.....unbelievable.
