Ok, so i have a desktop and a laptop, both with wireless card the i use to connect to the internet. The card on the desktop is old and outdated but it gets the job done for simple things such as surfing the net, the laptop is fairly new and has an intel PRO/wireless 3945ABG card. Basically theres this game i want to play that is out in open beta, but the laptop can't run the game efficiently enough to enjoy. And on the desktop i can't play properly since i keep getting kicked out of rooms because of high latency.

So currently, im thinking that i only have a few option:

    1) Get new wireless card for desktop (pointless for testing out free game though)

    2) Move desktop downstairs and plug it in via ethernet cable (No space down there atm but its the simplest option right now, though i might have to set everything on the floor)

    3) Find a way to use the wireless card, or the network connection on the desktop. (Im leaning towards this, since i only have to move the laptop which is small and i probably won't need to buy anything)

Are you suggesting to use the laptop as an AP?

If AP is access point the i think yes. But i've been looking around the network folders on the side, and i came across something called ICS (internet connection sharind) but im still figuring out what it does.

Also i can connect the desktop and laptop with a Ethernet cable
