So there exists on the market a 4x4 AC card for desktops, It's made by Asus, Known as the PCE AC88 now the previous one the AC78 wich was the 3x3 was also found in a differant form, A Mini pcie form and we know that to be the Azurewave AW-CB160H And it's great and all, But anyone know of a 4x4 solution by any chance? I mean this is NBR we like to push wireless networking and all things laptop to the extreme...

Or perhaps an intel 3x3 card

Also keep in mind that those based on Realtek hardware (RTL8814AU) are unlikely to be any good and driver support will be non-existent.

Is there any reason why the compex ones would have issues with PC hardware, If they fit the standard then it should be plug and play provided you can find a driver.

Yep they're designed for embedded hardware, and I speak from experience. I've tried a number of their cards, and other cards made for access points in search of a high powered 3x3 for my laptop. It really depends on the BIOS implementation, sometimes you can get them to work with a warm boot but not a cold boot, and if that's the case, most likely won't work after a suspend/resume cycle. Don't ask me about the low level details, closest explanation I've found is that it has something to do with not allowing enough time for initialization on PC hardware. If you go that route make sure you can return it.

What about mini NGFF m.2 ones ? Best I've seen is the 8265 INTEL with the new 802.11K/V/R tech.
