Okay I got the netgear WNR3500L. Okay connected everything wireless works.
    A couple problems
When pluggings all 4 connections rj45 to the router, wireless drops and internet drops. Unplugging everything except the wan wireless works fine speeds fine. Connecting single rj45 to each port you get internet.

2nd problem today on wifi getting 130mbps okay was wondering y I dont get the full 300mbps, my rosewill usb gets the full 300mpbs. Second when i got on vent I got a random spike ping going from 17-2k then get on LoL try to play a game first 5 min every 10 secs in every min i would shoot from 50ms to 200ms and then after 5 secs shoots down and once it hit 5 min all this stopped no vent lag no LoL lag. what do you guys think?

Well the netgear says we have the latest firmware. 2nd my dad and sis dont trust me in flashing to tomato or dd-wrt so cant do that. We found an interesting thing is we have connected 2/4 my room and an upstairs room, but when we connect my sisters we lose connection. The cable itself for my sisters room is messed up really lose. WPA-2 Personal security is on and is enabled to 300mbps, quote y i said the my rosewill usb gets 300mbps but my wifi in my laptop maxes out at 130mbps. The latency in the game only happens in my first game and dies out after 5-10min of game play. I changed the cat 5 cables.

I have a WNR3500L and an Acer 4820TG and I can get 243 or 300Mb/s when I'm within about 10 feet of my router. After that it falls off to about 81 to 167Mb/s as I roam about my place.

    Also, AR9287 wifi card.

I have the broadcom wifi card, maybe upgrading that to an atheros would be best. Hey SXooter is the AR9287 the best wifi card for the laptop?

Well, I've had a lot of problems with the stock-firmware on routers (especially with slow-downs like you're experiencing). You could try a third-party firmware like Tomato. It is a great firmware, and really easy to use.

    Tomato Firmware | polarcloud.com

You could also try DDR-WT: www.dd-wrt.com | Unleash Your Router

These two firmwares should support your router, and they are both great.

Use AIDA64 HWinfo32 or Everest to check which card is it exactly.
Buying new card may or may not be necessary- my guess is that you have one of those Broadom cards that do not support 40MHz channel width which limits them to 150mbps, but guessing is not good enough so I need to know the exact model.

That was surprisingly hard to find. Anyway- it's Broadcom 43225 and it supports 300mbps so the reason it doesn't at the moment is probably driver or driver settings- specifically advanced tab that can be accessed via device manager.
Make sure that channel width is set to either 40MHz or Auto- apparently Broadcom has this completely unnecessary setting just like Intel does.

yea i got it to put 300mbps thanks alot man. one other thing my dad wants to move to IPV6 instead of using IPV4, we cant get it to work though the default for netgear is tunnel 6to4 i think something like that would we have to find what protocal our modem/internet provider has? and im going to try if i lag with the settings now ill keep you update. download +1 for u bro.

edit: configuring my wifi adapter to get 300mbps, somehow helped me get no vent lag spike, no latency problems in game. I have no idea why not doing this would be a problem either way i like it. No spikes or problems :).

updating just got the replacement netgear router. Well the first one we had to keep in auto channel any other channel would mess up. This one we put to channel 11. My range goes from 216-300mbps i think its my settings idk.
strange reason with the messed up router i got in speedtest.net
    download speed 27.sometin mbps
    dlink got a whopping 31mbps
the new netgear gets stuck at 20mbps? y do you guys think i get 20mbps you think i only get 20mbps instead of 27?
