I got my 5720 Dell-Telus WWAN card today. Everything is fine except it does not connect to Rev. A. (3.1Mbps).

I called Telus and they said card is not Rev. A. capable (thanks Telus, you are a pal). I insisted this is Rev. A card and told them to google it. This monkey filling night shift at tech support didn't get me anywhere so I hung up for my sake.

Then I called Dell, explained everything and Dell was willing to send me a replacement - which will not help but at least they are polite and trying. At the end of convo, I got a number to call 1 888 299 6666 so I will give it a try tomorrow morning.

I know another user had same problem before but I don't see anywhere he got his problem solved. There will be more and more people with same problem as Telus just dropped Data Plan pricing and Dell Canada dropped card pricing to 149.99.

How do I connect to Rev.A. speed? Do I need firmware update, driver update or registry change I need to make? Is there something Telus forgot to activate?

I called Telus second time, this time during a day. I got onto phone with someone more helpful than last time and explained the situation.

Level one went to couple of sr.techs and came back told me it is showing up as Rev 0 card on thier database. I told him "you have outdated information" and explained Dell upgraded their card to Rev A. almost six months ago.

At end of convo, I asked if he could file this incident to whoever is in charge of entering ESN to their database. He told me to check back in couple weeks and it ended there.

I can't believe they can't support four or five cards they sell. I knew more than this guy answering phone at data team. He thought I had sierra card and I told him it is novatel E725.

Are you getting REV A. speeds consistently? I have a Sprint Rev A. card, and to be frank I am getting the same speeds as I am getting with my BBerry 8830 when tethered which is Rev. 0. Kind of disappointing, but I'll live.

So I had chance to bring my laptop to Hawaii and tried to connect on Verizon roaming and I am still only getting Rev 0!. My upload is capped at about 100KB and Dell Broadband Utility says I am connected to Rev 0. network.

WTH is wrong with this card? This is second card I got and it is clearly Novatel E725 (Rev A) and thats what it says on Device Manager. I feel like getting ripped off.

Also I noticed Telus quietly took off the claim of "Rev A" speed from their website under Dell laptop page.

I am only getting Rev 0. speeds. I double confirm that with pings I am getting and also upload speed which never goes above 100KB. I do have BB8830 but I didn't even bother tethering as it is known to be Rev 0 device.

    Hi CorporateTraveller,

Were you able to connect to Rev. A? I just got a m1330 with the same card built in (running firmware v150) and can't get to Rev A. at all.

Funny thing, this card is a replacement for one that wasn't activated properly and I could pick up Rev. A signals easily (running v150 as well)

Now I'm stuck with EVDO Rev 0....Telus has no idea what the issue is....
