There's the D-Link DXT-360 which is on sale on various websites and the more widely-known DIR-655 which is more expensive, but to me seems to be a more reliable product.
I don't know if there are more 802.11n D-Link routers out there, but these are the 2 I've narrowed it down to.
Should I go for the one on sale (hmm I wonder why) or the top-rated popular one (to be safe)? My instincts are to get the latter.
Also it would be good to note that this is my first time I'm buying a wireless router, let alone networking computers...so it's a little daunting. I hope I know what I'm doing. Just a few questions - one, how do I know if my desktop PC has networking capabilities? I know I might need a network adapter for it to work with the router. If so, I'm planning to get this.
Thanks.

If you buy a D-Link 802.11n router, you'll want to get all D-Link networking products. If you don't, you won't get the 300mbps speed that "n" can deliver.
Most desktops have built-in wired ethernet, but few come bundled with a wireless card. Look at the back - if you see an antenna or three sticking out of a PCI card, you probably have a wireless card. If not, you'll need to buy one.
I don't recommend getting a USB networking dongle for a PC. Get the PCI card instead. If you go for the DIR-655, you'll want to get the Xtreme products - when you visit the D-Link site and view the DIR-655, the recommended products are listed somewhere on that same page. Stick to those and you will be ok. -

I don't like the PCI cards if their signal is going to be blocked by the case. All depends on how your network is setup.
Am wanting to get a D-Link wireless router, but which one?
