Hooking up the linksys wireless was flawless. Only problem is I have this linksys easylink program on my desktop hogging my memory and slowing down my computer, or at least it seems to. For what it does it seems like bloatware.

Is there anything else that can monitor the wireless network, do I really need this thing?

You are not required to use there utility. You can un-install and use MS Zero Config.

Depending on which router you have, it may be your router. The WRT-54G v5+ is junk. GS is junk. My testing showed it had problem with handling more than 1 user.
