My sister picked up a Dell 1501 laptop last year and for the most part its been pretty good. However now her 1390 Wifi card only connects to a few 802.11G routers.

I have ordered for her a new 1490 mini wifi card in hopes it should rid of this problem. Its a Turion processor so the Intel wifi cards will not work internally from what I hear.

I've done everything from setting up her computer to use its own ip, to using different wireless configs to formatting the whole computer with no success.

My question is does anyone know or have any experience with going from the 1390 wifi card to the dell 1490 wifi card or anything else and seeing an improvement with connectivity???
