To be honest, it isn't a nice box. It has a bad modem too. Can anyone recommend some high SNR friendly filters, modems and routers? My internet chugs along at about dial up sometimes, and when the phone rings, the internet dies. It is actually quite funny.

That sounds like plain old 2.4 GHz interference from your phone. I had happen to me with a modem/router combo before. Changed my router to a Linksys E3000 at the time (it was a while ago) and the phone was getting static during calls so, it was definitely interference.

    A few questions:
How far are you from the router?
Are you on DSL, boradband, fiber or cable connection?
Have you tried changing the channel on your router between channels 1, 6 and 11?
Are you experiencing those problems when wired to the router or just on wireless?

You should really look into how you have everything set up and its placement. My dad has one in his basement, and the internet works fine two stories up and on the other side of the house. I feel that if you just buy any other router and put it in the same place, you are still going to have unresolved issues.
